A silver and enamel badge for the Liverpool Eastern District(Teaching).The school was formed after the Salmon reforms of 1973 and amalgamated Broadgreen, Alder Hey, Newsham and Olive Mount Hospitals training schools.
It offered SRN,RSCN,SEN(General and Mental Subnormality) and JBCN Intensive Care & Geriatric training.The badge was designed by one of the Paediatric Nurse Tutors and consists of a blue enamel cross with silver edging to the centre of which are pair of hands denoting the We Care For All motto of the school.In each of the arms of the cross are symbols denoting 1.the Liver Bird,2.An elderly person,3.A family of parents and child,4.A mother and baby.The school was itself replaced when the Liverpool Area School of Nursing was formed in 1979.The badge is in excellent condition with no enamel damage and pin, clasp and safety roller catch all good.It is named for J McManus 1971-75.Hallmarks for TF Birmingham 1975.Height 34mm
