Founded in 1816, the hospital moved to site in Broad Street Holborn in 1927.In 1947 the hospital was forced to amalgamate with the Central London Ophthalmic Hospital and the Royal London Ophthalmic Hospital in Moorfields to become the Westminster branch of the Moorfields, Westminster and Central Eye Hospital.The Westminster branch closed in 1989.The base metal and enamel badge features a Britannia like figure in front of a pillared building representing the Hospital.Condition is generally good although there is some wear to the plated finish.pin and clasp good.Makers mark for Thomas Fattorini Regent Street Birmingham.Height 29mm
