The Birmingham College of Nurse Education, silver Nurses badge

A silver and enamel nurses badge from the Birmingham College of Nurses Education.The design features a compass like arrow pointing towards the North East,but I am unsure of the significance of this, unless anyone knows? Excellent condition with pin clasp and safety roller catch all good.Silver hallmarks for TK&S(Toye Kenning & Spencer) Birmingham 1992.Height 32mm
