A silver and enamel badge for the Middlesex Hospital Nurses League.The Middlesex Hospital was one of those that did not originally award a hospital badge,as such,to its finalists.Rather they often received the badge of the Hospital's Nurses League,set up in 1931.This badge features the arms and motto of the Hospital "MIseris Succurrere Disco" meaning "I Learn(or Endeavour) to succour the unfortunate"
Condition is excellent, retaining some original gilt finish, and looks to have hardly come out of its original box which comes with the paper guidance from the League.Pin and clasp are good.Engraved for Edith E Prime.This is Edith Evelyn Prime who is shown in the GNC Register as having trained at the Middlesex Hospital from 1922 to 1925.Hallmarked for BHJ(B H Joseph & Co) Birmingham 1931,the year the League was founded.
