A less common early silver version of the badge for the Nurses League of Leicester Infirmary.Consisting of a red enamel shield with white and blue edging, it bears the cypher LIN League.At the top a blue ribbon bears Unity and Honour 1903(the year the league was founded).The Leicester Infirmary gained its Royal charter in 1914 becoming the Leicester Royal Infirmary and the cypher on the badge changed to reflect this.Enamel is intact, if somewhat discoloured.The pin has been professionally replaced.Engraved for M Hillman(This appears to be Madelaine Hillman who is shown in the GNC register as having trained at the Leicester Infirmary from 1899 to 1902) Hallmarks for Cf & Fd Ltd(Constantine & Floyd Ltd) ,Birmingham 1903.height 37mm
