Rainhill Hospital Merseyside,Asylum attendants badge pair
An unusual badge from Rainhill Hospital,in use prior to the formation of the School of Nursing in the 1960s.In a chromed metal which appears to have had a red paint applied, it was apparently issued to Asylum attendants who had worked at the hospital for 5 years. They were not formally trained and either worked as wardens or on the hospital farm but they had the status of Charge nurse.This one has
