Leicester Royal Infirmary, Nurses League & Silver prize medal pair

A pair of badges awarded to the same nurse for her training at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.The first is the LRI Nurses League badge which consists of a shield with the monogram LRINL with a cross bearing the motto Unity & Honour with the year 1903, the date the league was founded.These were initially issued rather than a training school badge ,similar to several other hospitals.Some wear, but pin intact, engraved for D M Foxley .
The second item is a small silver medal suspended from a plain silver pin back suspension bar on a blue silk ribbon.Height 65mm.on the rear is Nurse Training School D Foxley. Hallmarked for GK&S Birmingham 1949.Very good condition
