Birkenhead Municipal Hospital,Nurses Badge

A brass and enamel lozenge shaped nurses badge for the Birkenhead Municipal Hospital dating to the 1930s.Originally part of the Birkenhead Union Workhouse it was renamed BMH in 1933 before becoming St Catherines Hospital in 1948 on joining the NHS.
The badge features the arms of Birkenhead.Condition is good with no enamel damage, pin and clasp intact but loose.Engraved to rear 1939 M E Roebuck.Makers mark for Thomas Fattorini ltd Regent Street Birmingham Height 24mm
