An extremely rare group of badges and medal awarded to a Nursing sister who was co-opted into the Nyasaland Frontier Force during the Chilembwe Uprising in 1915.
Beatrice Charity Empson was born in 1869 in Northampton and trained at St Thomas' Hospital in London qualifying as a Nightingale Nurse in 1899. She gained her midwifery qualification from the London School of Obstetrics in 1904....  read more
