Royal Masonic Hospital, Silver Nurses badge

A rare and sought after silver and enamel Nurses Badge for the Royal Masonic Hospital London.The design mimics that of the Founders jewels.It was designed by C.L.J. Doman and shows humanity succouring the sick. The motto, ‘Aegros Sanat Humanitas” means ‘Kindness Heals the Sick’. The interlaced letters ‘RMH’ (Royal Masonic Hospital) to the centre boss below the suspension bar in navy and pale blue enamel.Condition is very good with some minor rubbing.Pin, clasp and safety roller catch all good.Engraved for Helen L Atwood Royal Masonic Hospital Feb 1955 to Feb 1958.Hallmarked for T&C (Toye & Co) London 1956 Height 56mm
