A silvered metal and enamel Nurses badge for Barrowmore Hospital Chester.Opened as a Tuberculosis Hospital in the 1920s,it became a general hospital after 1948 before it's eventual closure in 1983.This oval badge features a Cross of Lorraine,the emblem of the Anti TB crusade,in red enamel with the hospital title in a red band to the edge.This is surrounded by a laurel wreath in green enamel. In very good condition with pin and clasp good.Makers mark for Pinches London.Named for G Walford SEN 96268 30.9.65 Height 34mm
