Lowestoft & North Suffolk Hospital State Enrolled Nurses badge

A heavy base metal and enamel badge for the Lowestoft & North Suffolk Hospital for Enrolled Nurse training. Due to changes in regulations governing the number of beds required in a Training Hospital(in the 1960s?) the Hospital was obliged to change their SRN training to the SEN Course instead.This was the badge chosen and it depicts a sailing vessel from the areas long maritime links.In generally good condition although there are a number of surface scratches and minor nibbles to the enamel.Pin and clasp good but loose .Engraved for S Hardman 1973-76,makers mark Fenwick.Height 34mm
