A group of Badges and a buckle all awarded to the same nurse,Shirley Patricia Hawkins.
They consist of a silver plated buckle for University College Hospital
It features the arms of the hospital with a viking type vessel bearing a coiled snake upon the sails.It also features a pair of Maple leaves and the motto Ratione Dirige Cursum,literally Govern your course by Reason.Silver finish in worn condition with some signs of wear and several surface scratches .Height 66mm Next is a silver and enamel badge for the University College Hospital Nurses League.This is in its original cardboard box. Condition is good with pin and clasp good.
Thirdly is a base metal and enamel midwifery badge for Queen Charlottes Maternity ,Marylebone Road,London.Claimed to be the oldest Maternity Hospital in the country ,having been founded in 1739.The badge features a shield bearing the coat of arms of Queen Charlotte below an imperial crown.Good overall condition although with some minor wear to the plating.The pin and clasp are good.Unmarked to rear.Height 33mm
These are accompanied by a dress badge for the Royal College of Nursing an lastly a chrome and enamel General Nursing Council For England & Wales. This is named for S P Hawkins SRN 243183 3.12.56, This is Shirley Patricia Hawkins who is shown as having trained at University College Hospital London.
