A superb 19th century silver nurses medal for the Adelaide Hospital Dublin.
The Adelaide Institution and Protestant Hospital received its first patients at 43 Bride St in early 1839.It moved to a new site in Peter Street in 1858 and in 1859 a School of Nursing was founded. This medal, the Hudson Prize, was awarded for Nursing excellence.The face features the hospital crest with the motto Labor Omnia Vinci-Work Conquers All,to the rear is Hudson Prize TH Strangman 1886.Really crisp condition ,height 43mm
