Silver Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Service,Nurses Tippet badge

A scarce silver Tippet badge/medal for the Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps for the period 1948-1952.The Corps was officially formed on February 1st 1949 and this badge replaced the previous one for QAIMNS.The King's Crown version was changed to the Queen's Crown upon the accession of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11,although these King's crown versions were often reissued for many years unto the 1970s.
The badge consists of an open work design features the Danish Dannebrog cross with an A for Alexandra in the centre.Around the edge is the title.This is Missing its silk ribbon(although these may be sourced).The condition is generally good although there are some minor signs of wear .Hallmarked forD&S (Duncan & Scobie of Glasgow) Birmingham 1950.Height to suspension ring 53mm
