Territorial Force Nursing Service,Rare button badge

A rare early button badge for the Territorial Force Nursing Service.Founded in 1908.It recruited civilian nurses with at least three years training to staff hospitals in the event of war.The more familiar badge or medal consists of the intertwined A's of Queen Alexandra suspended red and white striped ribbon.This small metal TF badge was possibly to be worn on civilian dress to denote membership or perhaps to denote overseas service. The original criteria is unconfirmed.
Very good condition with pin and clasp good.Makers marks for JR Gaunt London.Height 24mm
