John Radcliffe Infirmary Oxford ,Nurses Badge

bronze Nurses badge from the John Radcliffe Infirmary Oxford.It features the seal of the hospital of a shield.The motifs include the book and crowns denoting the University,the Ox,and the Gryphon from the city coat of arms.The design was originally selected in 1941 by the Matron Miss Preddy and was awarded to members of the Hospital Nurses Guild.From 1969 it was presented to nurses qualifying from the Hospital's School of Nursing,before it was replaced by a different design in 1986.
In good overall condition with pin intact but safety roller catch is missing .. Height 38mm
