The medal itself would have been presented to one of the members of the committee attempting to recognise Jacob's contributions to Medicine in Ireland.He himself was presented with a gold version and his brother ,one in silver.
The face bears an image of Jacob ,whilst on the reverse is Arthur Jacob MD FRCS Prof.of Anat & Phys Roy Coll of Surgeons Ireland.To the centre is In Commemoration of Eminent Services Rendered to Science & The Medical Profession In Ireland 1860
