Netherne Hospital , Silver Mental Nurses badge

A nice silver badge for what had originally been the Surrey County Asylum near Coulsdon. It was later renamed Netherne Hospital and was eventually closed in 1994.
The Badge features a central Cnut cross against a white six pointed star with Netherne Hospital on the red band at the base. The whole is with a silver laurel wreath and I suspect this variant may have been a prize badge as it also appears in a bronzed version.Excellent condition with pin clasp and safety roller catch all good.Silver hallmarks for TF Birmingham 1964.
