Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital prize medal/Nightingale set,B Cartwright
A group of badges awarded to the same nurse for her dual training in the 1940s and 50s. The first relate to Registered Sick Children's Nurse training at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.The first is a silver gilt prize medal,Awarded Most Efficient Nurse.This is suspended on an original silk ribbon with pin back suspension bar.The centre bears the crest of Manchester.In excellent condition.,it is engraved B A Cartwright 6.10 47-28.7.51.Marked silver.It is in its original fitted silk and velvet lined case.
This is accompanied by a base metal and enamel badge for the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.In good condone,with pin and clasp intact.Inscribed Certified Nurse 351 Cartwright BA
The next is a chrome and enamel General Nursing Council for England & Wales badge.This is named for B A Cartwright RSCN 8252 30.7.51 SRN 211753 30.3.54
Lastly is a silver and enamel badge for the Nightingale School of Nursing,St Thomas Hospital London. In good condition but with some minor scratches to the enamel.It is named for Beryl A Cartwright 1954
