Birmingham General Hospital,cased Silver Nurses Prize badge 1950.

A very nice(and heavy) silver nurses prize medal, awarded by the Governors of the Birmingham General Hospital.
The face bears an image of John Ash MD and General Hospital Birmingham Founded 1766.the obverse depicts the statue which was in the courtyard entrance to the hospital around which is Awarded by the Governors of the Birmingham General Hospital.The medal is engraved to the rim for Dorothy Beatrice Cooper 1950. It is suspended on its original black silk ribbon with a silver bar brooch Fixing.good overall condition with some surface wear.
