Edinburgh Western General/Scots RGN/Royal Marsden group of Nurses Badges
A trio of badges awarded to the same nurse for her training in the 1960s.
The first is a silver and enamel pendant badge for the Western General Hospital Edinburgh.
The medal features the owl,castle and ship emblems of the Edinburgh City Hospital,over a blue enamelled St Andrews Cross.good condition
The rear is engraved 499 H Miller NOV. 1960.Hallmarked,Edinburgh for K&S( Kirkwood & son) with year letter h for 1963.In its original cardboard box Height 52mm
The second item is a silver and enamel Registered General Nurse Scotland badge.This is named to H Miller A42753.Makers marks for Hamilton & Inches hallmarked H&I Birmingham 1960
The third item is a silver and enamel badge for the Royal Marsden Hospital London.The first Hospital dedicated to the treatment of Cancer,it was founded in 1851,later moving to the Fulham Road site.This badge features a central design of two hands with fingers touching,denoting the nature of care.The hospital title is around the edge in blue enamel.Good condition but with pin clasp damaged ..Silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1970.Height 32mm
