A scarce Chrome and enamel nurses badge from the Manor Park Hospital Bristol.Originally opened as a prison in 1779 it went on to serve as a workhouse and institution for Mental Defectives before it was renamed Manor Park Hospital in the 1950s.It served mainly as a Geriatric Hospital and this badge would date to the late 50s or 60s.It features the crest of Bristol within a laurel leaf border.Good overall condition with minor nibble to the enamel at the edge,.
