National Temperance Hospital/St Marks Hospital London,German Jewish Refugee Nursing set of Badges and papers

An important representative group of badges and documents for one of the many German Jewish refugees prior to World War 2, who came to the UK and
underwent Nurse training during the war.
The group consists of a German Reisepass passport issued to Lotte Caroline Sarah May, born 13.01.1920 in Darmstadt German. This is stamped with a red J denoting her religion as Jewish. It features a number of stamps and entries including a Visa for the UK for two years, her entry stamp at Harwich on 10/08/1939 and a police stamp for Sunderland for 25/08/39. This means that she was able to escape Germany just weeks before the outbreak of war. With this document is a typewritten list of items she was able to bring with her but her most valuable possession,a typewriter, was confiscated at the German border.
Upon arriving in the UK she was sent to Sunderland where she started work at the Royal Infirmary, before applying to the LCC for Nurse Training at Highgate Hospital in 1941. She eventually undertook her training at the joint centres of the Sunderland Royal Infirmary 1939-40 and the Temperance Hospital & St Marks Hospital London from 1941-45.
the badges are the later pattern medal for the Temperance consisting of a pattee cross with NTH suspended from a red silk ribbon and a bar Affiliated Training.Unnamed to rear. The second is a silver badge for St Marks Hospital featuring the winged lion of St Marks. This is engraved to Lotte Caroline Sarah May from 14th July 1941 to 14th January 1943.Lastly we have a chrome and enamel General Nursing Council for England & Wales badge, engraved LK May SRN 133024. 7.6.45
Condition ,paperwork has age related wear, badges are generally good.
It seems likely that her Father Josef was in Buchenwald where he was killed, as was his wife Mathilde at Theresienstadt . Would merit further research.
