ARRC Medal group,Joan Salmon ,Malaya General Service,QARANC
A group of medals and awards to the same nurse for her training at the Charing Cross Hospital and later in the Army Nursing Service.
The set consists of an Associate Royal Red Cross (QE2) medal in original fitted case with ladies bow suspension. This is gazetted for Jun 12th 1958 and was presented by her Majesty on Nov 2nd 1958.
There are also a mounted bar to include this medal, a WW2 Defence and War medal(unnamed as issued) and a QE2 General Service medal with Bar for Malaya named for Maj. JL Salmon QARANC.
There is also a matching set of miniatures and medal ribbon in a small leather pouch.
Next there is a silver tippet badge for Queen Alexandra's Imperial military Nursing Service, hallmarked for Vaughton & Son Birmingham 1942.With ribbon this is in a mismatched case by John Pinches.
Then we have a medal for the Charing Cross Hospital named to Joan Salmon(She is shown on the GNC register as having trained at the Charing Cross from 1938-41 registered in November 1941.
there are also a pair of her ID tags and a QA association life member card in her later Married name of JL Bunn.
A nice interesting group to a WW2 nurse into the 1950s.
