St Thomas's Hospital, Unknown Buttonhole badge
A rare brass and enamel Buttonhole badge for St Thomas's Hospital.It bears the arms of the hospital with the title in red enamel on a brass base.The rear has a Buttonhole type fixing which suggests it was worn by male staff, possibly during the First World War.This is Numbered 39. The hospital was requisitioned in 1914 to become the 5th London General Hospital to treat Military casualties with the extra addition of several hutted wards.Height 28mm
