Amersham & High Wycombe pair of Nursing Badges
A pair of badges awarded to the same nurse for her training in the 1960s.
These are , an Amersham & High Wycombe School of Nursing badge.The oval chromed metal and enamel design features the Bohun Swan from the insignia of Buckinghamshire above that of a staff and spent with an open book denoting medicine and education.This is on a blue border with the school title on a red badge to the edge.Condition is very good with pin, clasp and safety roller catch all good.Makers mark for Thomas Fattorini Regent Street Birmingham,Inscribed for A M Stafford 8.3.64
The second item is a large enamelled nurses badge from the Amersham General & High Wycombe Hospitals Group Training School for Nurses.It features the entwined initials of the two hospitals within the group. There is some enamel damage to the edges, as pictured.Pin and clasp are intact .Engraved for A M Stafford 25.7.64
The blue badge is the earlier pattern which dates back to the 1950s whilst the other is the later pattern which went on to the 1970s.I assume that this lady's training spanned the transition period for the two designs?
