A rare silver and enamel nurses badge for the Cherry Orchard Fever Hospital Dublin.
Opened in the 1950's at Ballyfermot in Dublin, it replaced the Cork Street Hospital in the centre of the city. The badge consists of a green enamelled cross within a circular border bearing the latin Semper Fidelis Semper Paratus- Always Faithful,Always Ready.The enamel is worn in places as pictured .to the centre is a shield on which the enamel crest is also damaged.Pin ,clasp and safety roller catch all intact.Silver hallmarks for Dublin 1961.Height 35mm
