Merthyr General Hospital, Silver Nurses Badge

A scarce silver and enamel nurses badge from the Merthyr General Hospital in South Wales. The oval design depicts the front view of the original Hospital Buildings. on a blue border around the edge is Merthyr General Hospital Gwna A Ddylit Died A Ddel.(Do what you Should Do ,taken from the motto of Baron Merthyr) His statue once stood in front of the Hospital and can just be made out to the right of the badge!
Good overall condition, with pin clasp and safety roller catch all good.Makers mark for Thomas Fattorini Limited Birmingham. Silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1953.
