Silver Royal Medico-Psychological Association ,Mental Nurses medal

A nice example of the examination proficiency badge in silver for the RMPA.This organisation had been responsible for organising the training of Nurses in Asylums since 1890 and colonies since 1919.Later to become the Royal College of Psychiatrists it had been the only officially recognised qualification in Mental Nursing until 1921. Even after the creation of the RMN qualification by the General Nursing Council, it continued to award its own badges.
