St Paul's Eye Hospital Liverpool, silver Nurses Badge

A popular Silver and enamel Nurses badge from the St Paul's Eye Hospital Liverpool. Originally founded in 1871,the later hospital was opened in 1912.The badge shows a ship in full sail,partly as a reference to St Paul,his blindness and subsequent healing and his many journeys by sea.The ship also denotes Liverpool's famous maritime heritage. In very good condition, with pin clasp and safety roller catch all good. Unmarked to the rear Silver hallmarks for TF Birmingham 1985 height 32mm
