Lewisham School of Nursing,Silver Enrolled Nurses Badge

A nice example of a nurses training school badge from Lewisham Hospital.It features the central design of the Stag's head from the Earl of Dartmouth, holders of the Manor of Lewisham, complete with 5 pointed star taken from the arms of the Borough. Across the Antlers is tied a twisted wreath with a raven,alluding to the local river the Revensbourne,In its mouth the stag holds the rod of Asclepius.The three original training hospitals in the group were Lewisham,Grove Park & Hither Green & St John's.
This badge is for the Lewisham School of Nursing and is in general good condition although with some surface scratches. Pin in good order but clasp is missing its safety roller catch.Hallmarked for Thomas Fattorini for 1987. Height 34mm
