First World War Ambulance Column London District, cap badge
A rare original bronze badge for the First World War Ambulance Column attached to the London District. Set up in 1914 and consisting of civilian volunteers under military command, their role was to transport casualties between London Railways stations and hospitals in and around London. see; http://london-ambulance-column.com
The badge is of a pressed bronze construction and features a belt strap with Ambulance Column with a voided centre.It has a twin lug fixing and is a very good condition.Height 35mm
