Highlands General Hospital Enfield, Nurses Badge
Originally set up as the Northern Convalescent Fever Hospital at Enfield Chase, it was later renamed as the Northern Hospital and came under the control of the London County Council in 1930. On the formation of the NHS in 1948 it was renamed the Highlands General Hospital and in 1956 a School of Nursing was approved by the GNC. https://ezitis.myzen.co.uk/highlands.html
The badge shows Humanity aiding the Sick from a design by C J Doman (which also appears on Masonic Hospital Jewels.) In base metal with a gilt finish, condition is good.Pin, clasp and safety roller catch are all good. Named for P E Blackmore 1970
The hospital closed in 1998 and facilities transferred to Chase Farm Hospital.
