University College Hospital,Silver Plated Nurses Buckle

A good example of the UCH Silver plated belt buckle .
It features the arms of the hospital with a viking type vessel bearing a coiled snake upon the sails.It also features a pair of Maple leaves and the motto Ratione Dirige Cursum,literally Govern your course by Reason.
Silver finish in worn condition with some signs of wear but only minor surface scratches .Belt clasp is missing but these were often replaced by a large nappy pin!.
