The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital Birmingham ,Silver Nurses Badge

A scarce silver badge from the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, the Woodlands,Birmingham.
The Nurse Training School opened in 1937 for the Orthopaedic certificate and the first badges were awarded in 1951.Designed by the Matron,Miss B Mountain in conjunction with the Birmingham School of Art.In unpolished silver the main design features a Geneva cross within a laurel wreath surrounded by the Hospital title round the edge.Condition is good with minimal surface wear.Pin,clasp and safety roller catch are all good.hallmarked for the Birmingham Badge & Medal Company Birmingham 1971.Height 30mm
