Maidstone Typhoid Medal, Nurse a Tenniswood.
Another of these popular and rare Medals awarded for the Nurses and staff who assisted in the Maidstone Typhoid epidemic of 1897.
The background to the epidemic and its subsequent nursing involvement can be found in Sarah Rogers excellent article here;

The medal itself consists of the shield bearing the arms of Maidstone suspended on an original blue silk ribbon with yellow stripes.A plain silver bar suspension brooch with pin is in situ.The rear has With Gratitude A. Tenniswood for Loving Services 1897. Very Good condition. Unfortunately I have bee unable to trace this particular nurse other than that she is on the list of Nursing recipients of the medal
