A popular porcelaine figurine produced for Royal Doulton in their Classics Collection from 2000,numbered HN 4287.Modelled by Adrian Hughes,The Nurse features a classic portrayal of a nurse wearing her blue uniform with white apron over which she is wearing a cape with red crossed straps.She has the look of a nurse from the 50s or 60s travelling between her Nurses Home and Hospital. Approximately 220mm tall.The condition is good with no chips or cracks.There is however one small spot of paint loss to the edge of the cloak, see picture. .With original Doulton Classic box but no certificate. A bronzed metal and enamel badge from the Broadland School of Nursing which amalgamated several of the different schools of Nursing across Norfolk in the 1970s,The badge features a shield with 5 segments,each bearing a representation from the emblems of the previous schools.These include the Norfolk & Norwich,West Norwich and Great Yarmouth Hospitals.Good condition with minimal wear.Pin and clasp good.Makers mark for Thomas Fattorini Regent St Birmingham.Height 38mm

An extremely rare, early broze long service badge for the Norwich and Norfolk Hospital.It consists of a plain bronze Maltese/Pattee cross with an applied circle upon which is "Norwich & Norfolk Staff of Nurses".On this is a pointed oval shape with the letters NNS intertwined and "With Goodwill Doing Service".The cross is suspended from two brass chains.this would have been joined to a plain brass pin back bar brooch but this is missing.Condition is good for it's age.There is moderate surface scratching throughout. The rear of the badge is engraved 1894,Presented to Nurse E Shingles by the Committee for Five Years Faithful Services 1898.This appears to be Emma Mary Shingles,born in 1870, who is shown in the College of Nursing as having joined that organisation in 1917.Her address is given as 32 Surrey Street Norwich Height of cross 45mm A rare early nurses badge .

A base metal and enamel original, post 1975, version of the members dress badge of the Royal College of Nursing.(Note; for current members of the RCN a similar but plasticised enamel version is available from membership services at the RCN more cheaply) . The shield bears a sun and three stars symbolising day and night.This is topped by an open book and roman lamp symbolising learning and nursing.A red scroll at the base bears the latin Tradimus Lampada-We Pass on the Torch.The wording around the edge reflects the amalgamation of the two bodies.Condition generally good with only minor surface scratches.The pin, clasp and safety roller catch are all good. Postage is included in the price of this item
