A limited edition Coalport figurine of Sister Lawrence from St Mary's Hospital Paddington 1895-1900.This was issued for the 60th Anniversary of the Hospital's Nurses League,in 1982,in an edition of 1500, this figure being numbered 658 .Standing at approximately 210mm the nurse wears an Edwardian style full length uniform with white apron,sleeve protectors and frilled cap with bows.In very good condition, however missing its matching certificate or box.

The next is a base metal Badge for Orpington Hospital in good condition with pin and clasp intact.Engraved for A M Dickinson 4.11.68 - 5.7.71.(As the training was for three years I am assuming that this lady may have failed her final state exam and opted instead for SEN status rather than resit?)
The third item is a base metal and enamel badge for St David's Hospital Carmarthen.The shield shaped badge bear an image of the Saint flanked by two Daffodils,the emblem of Wales.Good condition with pin and clasp intact.Named for Anne Marie Dickinson 5.8.73,Possibly issued for post basic Training?

Leicester Royal Infirmary, Nurses League & Silver prize medal pair

A pair of badges awarded to the same nurse for her training at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.The first is the LRI Nurses League badge which consists of a shield with the monogram LRINL with a cross bearing the motto Unity & Honour with the year 1903, the date the league was founded.These were initially issued rather than a training school badge ,similar to several other hospitals.Some wear, but pin intact, engraved for D M Foxley .
The second item is a small silver medal suspended from a plain silver pin back suspension bar on a blue silk ribbon.Height 65mm.on the rear is Nurse Training School D Foxley. Hallmarked for GK&S Birmingham 1949.Very good condition

An unusual silver belt buckle in the form of the Irish Claddagh ring or brooch.This has three symbolic elements which are the Heart which denotes Love,the Crown denotes Loyalty and the Hands are a sign of Friendship. Often given as a token of love by the family , partner or friend. The dimensions are width 94mm height 56mm 65gms .Belt loops and clasp are good.GAB inscribed to rear.Hallmarked MKM London 1998

GNC Stanley Royd/ Middleton/ Oulton Hall Hospitals Male Nurses group of badges

A quartet of Badges issued to the same male nurse from the late 1940s through to the early 1960s.
These are a chrome and enamel General Nursing Council for England & Wales badge, with button hole fixing.This named to W H Derbyshire RMN 28862 4.8.59.this is Walter Herbert Derbyshire who is shown as being registered after training at Stanley Royd Hospital.Interestingly he is also shown as being entered onto the SEAN roll on 23.12.49 under rule 14 and 43, having worked at The Westmoreland Sanatorium Grange over Sands, although no badge is present.
The second item is a bronze Stanley Royd Hospital badge, being unmarked.Height 35mm
The third item is a silver and enamel badge for Middleton Hospital Ilkley, which was a TB sanatorium.Unnamed but hallmarks for TJS Chester 1951.Good condition, pin and clasp intact.Height 28mm.I can find no qualifications for training here but I suspect it relates to the SEAN, possibly for subsequent service?
The last item is a silver and enamel badge for the Oulton Hall Hospitals.This was a Learning Disabilities Hospital in Leeds and WH Derbyshire is shown in the GNC registers as having qualified as a RNMS here on 12.4.61.It depicts rose motif with an owl for Leeds to the centre.In excellent condition although pin is tight .Named for Walter Herbert Derbyshire Feb 1961.Hallmarked for BMC & co (Birmingham Medal Company) Birmingham 1972.Height 32mm
