A ww2 souvenir piece for a member of the Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service Reserve.The walnut box has the emblem of the service a letter R within a circle, topped by a crown.
It is accompanied by an Identity card for the Army in India made out to Sister Christina Mary Gallagher QAIMNSR along with her Irish birth certificate.  read more

Princess Mary's Royal Air Force Nursing Service,Original Tippet,Senior Sister rank

A scarce original PMRAFNS blue /grey Tippet or cape. This has its original rank epaulettes for Senior Sister,with kings crown buttons. The Medical Service Badges of the Rod of Asclepius and wings ,also have the kings crown suggesting pre 1952 service. Another unusual item from my collection ,being one of the original bronze dies for the casting of the Famous Nightingale nursing badges.The two sided disk features the front and reverse of the eight pointed star badge, complete with herring bone stripes to the arms.

Vintage Bandage Winder,Royal Salop Infirmary School of Nursing

An interesting piece of Nursing History being a wooden and metal frame for use in rewinding bandages.
