An extremely rare prize medal awarded by the Nightingale School of Nursing at St Thomas' Hospital.
The prize medals were awarded from approximately 1917 with a design created by Countess Gleichen, a famous sculptress of the time. There were prizes in a Gold, Silver and Bronze category, which were originally in those metals but later in plated finishes.
