Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service Reserve Medal

An original Silver Tippet badge for the Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service Reserve.From it's foundation in 1908,(from what had been Princess Christian's Army Nursing Service Reserve)until 1949, this badge would have been worn on the Cape or Tippet.The medal was made of silver and consisted of a voided centre with the letter R for Reserve below an Imperial Crown.
In very good condition, although minus it's original silk ribbon.This is the larger size version being 39mm high.Marked to rear for retailers Carrington & Co London.Hallmarks for BHJ(B H Joseph & Co) Birmingham 1915
