Royal Masonic Hospital ,silver Nurses Buckle
A scarce and desirable two piece nurses belt buckle, attached to a petersham belt, from the Royal Masonic Hospital.The main body of the buckle consist of a heavy convex scrolled design into which are set two panels in a voided centre.The first bears the square and compass, the second the five pointed star, both masonic emblems.This is the belt which was awarded to nurses qualifying from the Nurse Training School.The second piece is the buckle clasp.The body is hallmarked for Toye,Kenning & Spencer,Birmingham 1966.Condition of the buckle is very good with only minor surface wear.The belt is intact so I have left it in situ .
These seldom come onto the market and the price reflects rarity and my purchase cost for this collectable item.
