South Ockendon Group of Hospitals Nurses Badge
South Ockendon was originally a Colony for the mentally Handicapped in Essex which opened in 1932.It changed its name to South Ockendon Hospital in 1948 and the Group was in operation until 1974 so the badge probably dates to the 1960s.The Hospital finally closed in 1994.

In the modern "Star Trek" style this badge for the South Manchester College of Nursing which encompassed the Withington, Wythenshawe and Christies Hospitals,was only in use for 3 years in the mid 1990s.In chrome and enamel this badge is in good condition with pin and clasp in good order.Makers mark for Fattorini.
